Willow Birdfeeder Workshop
Tue 6 Oct 2020 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Bird feeding is most helpful at times when birds need the most energy, such as during temperature extremes, migration, and in late winter or early spring, when natural seed sources are depleted. Get ready to feed the birds in your garden this coming Winter and help attract new ones by making your very own wild Bird Feeder at Flittons Nursery!
Join Lorraine for this morning Willow workshop, you can choose to make either a hanging Birdfeeder suitable for fat balls or self-supporting upright feeder for seeds.
Willow Flower Workshop
Tue 6 Oct 2020 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm
There is something about working with Willow that is very relaxing and mindful as you have to concentrate on the task in hand.
In this afternoon workshop, you will spend time with Lorraine and learn how to weave Willow flowers that can be displayed indoors or out. All you will need to make this beautiful art piece is some buff Willow withies, a bodkin and a pair of secateurs!
Sunday 22nd November 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.
Weave your very on Willow Christmas Tree, environmentally friendly and beautiful too!
We make our Willow Christmas Trees by supporting the upright Willow rods in a jig and then using Willow withies to weave the tree. We start in a similar way to making a garden obelisk using a tabletop jig, the weave is then changed and we end up with a beautiful, full-looking Christmas tree. There are different weaves that can be used to create your own design, every tree is unique!
Sunday 22nd November 1.30 p.m. to 3.30 p.m.
Create a stunning chandelier made from natural resources including Hazel, Willow and Birch. Hang your chandelier over your dining table, in your conservatory or elsewhere in your home and impress your visitors with your artistic creation!
We will use long rods of Hazel to form the wreath base then intertwine with Curly Willow and Birch. You can add pine cones too and finish off with some sparkling lights. Once completed the chandelier is then supported by a specially covered strong wire ready for hanging!
