EXPERIENCES
Lorraine & Paul Matthews offer experiences, including Hedgelaying and Wattle Hurdle Making training courses, heritage skills undertaken during the autumn and winter months through to hands on Wood Craft, Willow Craft and Bushcraft workshops delivered throughout the year. Seasonal materials are used to make crafts, cut and harvested locally as part of a sustainable woodland management programme.
 
The outdoor experiences offered are suited to adults, teenagers, families and groups. Some workshop experiences are also suitable for children aged 8 years and up if supervised by a parent or guardian.

There is something about working with Willow that is both relaxing and mindful, you have to focus on the task at hand, the only danger in learning the skill of weaving is you could get hooked!

Lorraine is back at Flitton’s Nursery on Saturday 14th May offering morning, afternoon and a full-day Willow Workshop.  In a full-day workshop you can choose your preferred combination of up to two of the following crafts:

  • 3D Willow Heart (morning)

  • Flat Woven Willow Heart, Tree or own design (afternoon)

  • Tension Tray / Platter (afternoon)

 

Cost

  Full-day workshop: £85.00 per person

  Morning or afternoon workshop: £45.00 per person

Time

  Full-day workshop: - 9.45 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. (includes a 1-hour break for lunch)

  Morning workshop: 10.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. (2.5 hours)

  Afternoon workshop: 1.30 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. (2.5 hours)
